Act 6 — Hell Hosts’ Rise to Power
Era: The Fractured Stars (Era 1)
Previous: Act 5 — War of Virex Prime
Next: Beauty of Annihilation (Era 2) Act 7
Overview
Act 6 follows the transformation of the newly formed Hell Hosts from an uneasy alliance of former enemies into one of the most powerful military factions within the Omicron Galaxy.
Following the War of Virex Prime, surviving personnel from the Terrorism Control Agency and Free Order Rebellion find themselves serving within the same organization. Years of warfare have left considerable resentment between the former enemies, but widespread violence between them never occurs. Both sides understand why they were forced together and increasingly view the Free World Order as a greater threat than one another.
As the Hell Hosts begin recruiting personnel from outside the former TCA and FOR, William Grant joins the faction as an ordinary soldier. Experienced but directionless following Michael Cross’s betrayal, William sees the Hell Hosts as both a new purpose and an opportunity to fight the organization created by the man who betrayed him.
William gradually rises through the expanding faction as the Hell Hosts claim Voridinus II, construct Vanguard Tower, develop their military and economic power, and attract many of the individuals who will eventually become some of their most important soldiers and commanders.
The death of Monster during an operation and later unexplained disappearance of Jordan Thompson eventually leave the faction without its original leadership.
William ultimately rises to command the organization he once joined as an ordinary soldier.
Under Predator, the Hell Hosts continue expanding until they become a civilization-scale military superpower containing billions of personnel, enormous fleets, specialist divisions, approximately one thousand battalions, advanced artificial intelligence, robotic armies, powerful war machines, and some of the largest military vessels in the galaxy.
Act 6 concludes with the modern-day Hell Hosts and marks the end of The Fractured Stars (Era 1).
After Virex Prime
The Hell Hosts begin as an alliance between people who had spent years attempting to kill one another.
Former TCA and FOR soldiers remain distrustful and resentful following the events of Virex Prime. Many are unhappy with the sudden merger and retain strong loyalties to their former comrades and organizations.
Despite this, the transition does not result in widespread internal violence.
Both sides understand the circumstances that created the alliance.
The emergence of the Free World Order has introduced a threat considered more dangerous by personnel from both former factions, while the destruction surrounding Virex Prime has made returning to the previous conflict increasingly impossible.
The temporary cooperation created through Operation Hell’s Hosts consequently survives beyond the battle.
What began as an emergency military alliance becomes a permanent organization.
The Hell Hosts begin building an identity of their own.
William Grant
William Grant is not a founder of the Hell Hosts.
He is not a former TCA soldier.
He is not a former member of the Free Order Rebellion.
William joins after the faction has already been created.
Following the betrayal of Michael Cross, William is left without the partnership that had defined a significant portion of his life. His previous military and mercenary experience makes him valuable, but he initially enters the Hell Hosts as an ordinary soldier rather than a major commander.
His motivations are deeply personal.
The two factions William had watched fighting for years have now joined together largely because of the threat posed by Free World. With Michael now leading that organization as Onyx, joining the Hell Hosts provides William with direction, purpose, and an opportunity to fight back.
He begins at the bottom of a faction he will eventually command.
Sub-Acts
Sub-Act 6.1 — Former Enemies
The newly formed Hell Hosts struggle with the immediate aftermath of Virex Prime.
Former TCA and FOR personnel must adapt to serving beside soldiers they had previously considered enemies. Resentment remains common, and neither side immediately forgets the years of warfare between them.
However, the merger does not descend into internal violence.
Both groups recognize the growing threat of the Free World Order and understand why their cooperation became necessary.
The temporary alliance begins its difficult transformation into a unified military organization.
Sub-Act 6.2 — New Blood
The Hell Hosts begin recruiting personnel from beyond the remnants of the TCA and FOR.
Among the new recruits is William Grant.
William possesses considerable previous combat experience but joins as an ordinary soldier. Still affected by Michael’s betrayal and uncertain of his own future, he sees the Hell Hosts as an opportunity to regain direction while fighting the faction now commanded by Onyx.
William enters the organization with no guarantee that he will ever become anything more than another soldier.
Sub-Act 6.3 — Predator
William begins establishing himself within the Hell Hosts.
His combat experience, determination, and actions during the faction’s early operations gradually distinguish him from the rapidly growing number of personnel around him.
This period marks the beginning of William’s rise through the organization and the increasing importance of the identity that will eventually define him:
As the Hell Hosts expand, other soldiers and specialists who will become associated with the faction’s future also begin appearing throughout its ranks.
Sub-Act 6.4 — Voridinus II
The Hell Hosts identify Voridinus II as a valuable location for their expanding faction.
At the time, the planet is occupied by bandits and other hostile groups rather than a major galactic power.
Hell Host forces launch an operation to secure the world.
The resistance is rapidly eliminated, allowing the faction to claim Voridinus II as its own.
Development begins almost immediately.
Among the earliest and most ambitious projects is Vanguard Tower, which will eventually become one of the defining structures of the Hell Hosts and the centre of their power on the planet.
Voridinus II begins its transformation from a hostile world into the heavily fortified Hell Host capital it will later become.
Sub-Act 6.5 — Foundations
With Voridinus II secured, the Hell Hosts begin developing the foundations of a permanent military power.
Recruitment expands.
New military formations are established.
Industrial and logistical capabilities grow.
Fleets become larger.
Specialized units begin appearing as the organization develops beyond the combined remnants of the TCA and FOR.
During the wider rise of the faction, individuals such as Azure Gale, Red Wind, Marksman, Forsaken, Ranger, Tyrant, and Blood become part of the growing Hell Host military.
The Hell Hosts are no longer merely survivors of Virex Prime.
They are becoming an independent galactic power.
Sub-Act 6.6 — Monster
The expanding Hell Hosts continue conducting increasingly significant military operations.
During one such operation, Monster is killed.
His death removes one of the most important figures from the faction’s early history and creates a major change within its leadership.
The exact circumstances surrounding Monster’s final operation and death remain largely undocumented.
The Hell Hosts survive the loss and continue expanding.
Sub-Act 6.7 — Vanished
Some time following the death of Monster, Jordan Thompson disappears.
Unlike Monster, no confirmed death is established.
Thompson simply vanishes.
His fate and the circumstances surrounding his disappearance remain unknown.
With Monster dead and Thompson missing, the Hell Hosts lose the figures most closely associated with their original leadership following Virex Prime.
The faction is forced to move forward without them.
Sub-Act 6.8 — Rise of Predator
William Grant’s long rise through the Hell Hosts eventually reaches its culmination.
The experienced soldier who originally joined the faction seeking direction after the betrayal of his closest ally has become one of its most important figures.
Following the death of Monster and disappearance of Jordan Thompson, William ultimately assumes leadership of the Hell Hosts.
The transition begins a new period in the faction’s history.
William Grant entered the Hell Hosts as another soldier.
He now leads them as Predator.
Sub-Act 6.9 — Ascension
Under Predator’s leadership, the Hell Hosts undergo enormous expansion.
Their armies increase dramatically in size, specialist military formations multiply, fleets grow increasingly powerful, and the faction’s industrial and technological capabilities continue advancing.
Figures including Azure Gale, Red Wind, Marksman, Champion, Forsaken, Ranger, Tyrant, and Blood become part of the enormous military structure developing around Predator.
Later generations further transform the faction.
Predator’s daughter, Victoria, becomes a soldier within the Hell Hosts and an important figure in her own right. Her name is eventually carried by the HH Victoria, one of the faction’s major vessels and flagship.
Advanced artificial intelligence and robotics become increasingly important to Hell Host military development. Projects created years after the faction’s foundation eventually produce figures such as OD-139, whose service demonstrates the increasingly close integration of sapient artificial intelligence and robotic personnel within the faction.
Marcus rises into the highest levels of the military, eventually becoming an Admiral of Fleet One, captain of the HH Commonwealth, commander of the 702nd Battalion, and a potential future successor to Predator.
The Hell Hosts increasingly cease to resemble the emergency alliance created at Virex Prime.
They become a superpower.
Sub-Act 6.10 — Hell Hosts
By the modern era, the Hell Hosts have become one of the largest and most powerful military organizations within the Omicron Galaxy.
The faction contains approximately five billion personnel, around half of whom are humans and other humanoid species. Much of the remaining population consists of robotic and other artificial personnel integrated throughout the faction’s military and support infrastructure.
Approximately one thousand battalions operate throughout the Hell Hosts alongside numerous specialist divisions and commands.
These include organizations such as the Doom Corps, Shock & Awe Division, Powered Armour Division, Medical Corps, Exploration Command, Advanced Warfare Group, Spectre Division, Fire Division, Eradication Division, R.A.M. Division, Research Division, and numerous other specialized military formations.
The faction operates enormous fleets containing increasingly advanced warships, including vessels such as the HH Victoria and HH Commonwealth.
Hell Host ground forces deploy vast numbers of vehicles, robotic combat units, powered armour systems, specialized weapons, and Titans capable of operating as strategic war machines.
Voridinus II has been transformed completely.
The former bandit-held world is now the heavily fortified capital of the Hell Hosts, protected by massive orbital defences, military installations, enormous anti-ship weapons, and Vanguard Tower.
The Hell Hosts have also developed enormous economic power.
Their involvement within major galactic trading systems, combined with their industrial capabilities, controlled resources, technological development, and expanding territories, provides the wealth required to maintain a military operating on a civilization-wide scale.
Humans serve alongside numerous other humanoid species.
Organic soldiers fight beside machines.
Artificial intelligences operate throughout fleets and military infrastructure.
Thousands of individual units perform roles ranging from conventional warfare and medicine to exploration, research, planetary defence, special operations, and large-scale fleet combat.
Among billions of personnel are legendary commanders, soldiers whose names have become known throughout the faction, and countless ordinary personnel whose careers have only just begun.
Among them is a Private Second Class named Calypso.
At the centre of the organization stands William Grant.
Once a directionless soldier who joined the Hell Hosts in the aftermath of his closest friend’s betrayal, William now commands one of the greatest military powers in the galaxy.
The alliance born from the ruins of Virex Prime has become something neither the TCA nor FOR could have imagined.
The Hell Hosts have risen.

Rise of Predator
Predator’s rise mirrors the wider rise of the Hell Hosts.
Neither begins Act 6 in the position they will eventually occupy.
The Hell Hosts begin as the remnants of two devastated enemies forced together by circumstances beyond their control.
William begins as an experienced but directionless soldier seeking purpose following the betrayal of Onyx.
As the organization grows, so does William’s position within it.
By the time he assumes leadership, both have been fundamentally transformed.
Predator does not create the Hell Hosts.
He inherits them.
What follows is the period in which the faction becomes most closely associated with his leadership.
Voridinus II
The acquisition of Voridinus II represents one of the most important developments during the early expansion of the Hell Hosts.
After eliminating the hostile groups occupying the world, the faction begins rapidly developing it into a permanent centre of military power.
Vanguard Tower becomes one of the earliest symbols of this ambition.
Over time, the planet develops enormous military installations, orbital defences, industrial infrastructure, and anti-ship weaponry.
Voridinus II eventually becomes the capital and heavily fortified heart of the Hell Hosts.
Military Expansion
The early Hell Hosts inherit personnel and military experience from both the Terrorism Control Agency and Free Order Rebellion, but their eventual military structure grows far beyond either predecessor.
New battalions, divisions, fleets, specialist commands, research programs, artificial intelligence projects, vehicles, warships, and strategic weapons are developed as the faction expands.
By the modern era, the Hell Hosts possess approximately one thousand battalions and an enormous collection of specialist military organizations.
Their forces include billions of organic and artificial personnel operating across ground, air, orbital, naval, research, medical, exploratory, and specialized combat roles.
Economic Power
Military expansion is accompanied by enormous economic growth.
The Hell Hosts become heavily involved in galactic trade and develop significant wealth through their participation within major trading systems.
Combined with industrial production, resource acquisition, technological development, and control of increasingly important territory, this economic power allows the faction to sustain military forces on a scale that would otherwise be impossible.
Their wealth becomes as important to their continued dominance as their armies and fleets.
Themes
Act 6 focuses on transformation, purpose, unity, ambition, and legacy.
The Hell Hosts are created from two groups that previously considered one another enemies. Their alliance does not erase their history, but the threat posed by Free World gives both sides a reason to build something beyond their previous conflict.
William undergoes a similar transformation.
After losing Michael, he enters the Hell Hosts looking for direction and revenge. His gradual rise ultimately gives him responsibility for something vastly larger than the personal conflict that originally brought him there.
The Act also explores how institutions can outgrow the circumstances that created them.
Operation Hell’s Hosts begins as an emergency response to a battlefield crisis.
The organization that emerges from it eventually contains billions.
Consequences
By the end of Act 6, the political landscape established at the beginning of Fractured Stars has been completely transformed.
The Terrorism Control Agency and Free Order Rebellion are gone.
Michael Cross has created the Free World Order.
William Grant has risen from an ordinary Hell Host recruit to leader of one of the galaxy’s largest military powers.
The Hell Hosts have transformed from an emergency alliance into a multi-species, technologically advanced military superpower with approximately five billion personnel, vast fleets, enormous economic influence, specialist divisions, around one thousand battalions, advanced artificial intelligence, robotic forces, Titans, and heavily fortified territory.
The personal divide between William and Michael has become something far larger than either man.
Both now stand at the centre of powers capable of shaping the future of the galaxy.
The fractured stars have produced a new galactic order.
