Era 2 — Beauty of Annihilation
Beauty of Annihilation marked the beginning of a far more militarized period within the Omicron Galaxy, following the formation and rapid rise of the Hell Hosts during The Fractured Stars.
With the Hell Hosts developing into a major galactic military power, older and emerging factions increasingly came into conflict with one another. Large armies, powerful fleets, fortified worlds, and increasingly advanced weapons began reshaping warfare throughout the galaxy.
One of the most important developments of the era was the resurgence of the Angel Swords, an ancient religious and military power with a growing interest in relics, anomalous technology, the Farlands, and Element 95. Their return introduced another major military force into an already unstable galaxy and established the foundations of their future conflict with the Hell Hosts.
The era also marked the beginning of the Obsidian Veil’s direct involvement in the lives of major Hell Host personnel. Destiny was kidnapped from the Hell Host Endeavor and disappeared for nine months, with the Hell Hosts initially unable to recover her or fully understand why she had been taken.
At the same time, the long-standing rivalry between the Hell Hosts and Free World Order escalated into the Hell Host–Free World War.
The conflict culminated in the Rainfall Execution, where the Hell Hosts defeated Free World forces and captured several senior members of the faction. Although the Free World Order survived, the war ended in a Hell Host victory and Onyx subsequently disappeared.
The era concluded with the Desert Operation, during which Hell Host forces confronted the Angel Swords and acquired information that pointed toward the Farlands.
Although Beauty of Annihilation remained largely defined by military conflict, the events of the era increasingly pushed the galaxy toward forces beyond conventional warfare.
The Angel Swords were searching for ancient power.
The Obsidian Veil had taken Destiny for reasons nobody understood.
And the Hell Hosts had begun following a trail toward the Farlands.
