Ship Classifications
Hell Host vessels are organized into broad naval classifications based on their size, intended role, armament, endurance, and strategic capability.
A vessel’s classification does not describe a specific ship design. Multiple individual ship classes may exist within the same classification.
Corvette
Corvettes are among the smallest independent warships operated by the Hell Hosts.
Fast, inexpensive, and highly maneuverable, they are commonly used for patrol, interception, reconnaissance, convoy escort, and screening larger vessels.
Corvettes sacrifice heavy armour and sustained firepower in exchange for speed and operational flexibility.
Frigate
Frigates are light warships primarily designed to support larger fleet formations.
They commonly specialize in point defence, anti-fighter warfare, missile interception, electronic warfare, reconnaissance, escort duties, and anti-corvette operations.
Frigates frequently form the defensive screen surrounding larger Hell Host capital ships.
Destroyer
Destroyers are fast frontline warships capable of both independent operations and conventional fleet combat.
Larger and more heavily armed than frigates, destroyers are used for interception, escort, anti-ship warfare, patrol, and rapid-response operations.
Their combination of speed, firepower, and relatively low logistical requirements makes destroyers one of the most widely deployed warship types within the Hell Host Armada.
Cruiser
Cruisers are medium-to-heavy warships designed for extended independent operations and sustained fleet combat.
They possess greater endurance, armour, firepower, and internal capacity than destroyers while remaining considerably more mobile and economical than larger capital ships.
Cruisers are among the most versatile vessels in the Armada and can be configured for combat, exploration, command, troop transport, electronic warfare, or specialist operations.
Heavy Cruiser
Heavy cruisers sacrifice some of the mobility of conventional cruisers in exchange for greater armour, heavier weapons, stronger shields, and increased operational endurance.
They commonly support major fleet engagements and can operate as command vessels for smaller task forces.
Battlecruiser
Battlecruisers are large capital warships designed around speed and heavy offensive capability.
They carry weapons capable of threatening significantly larger vessels while retaining greater mobility than conventional battleships.
This firepower comes at a cost, with battlecruisers generally possessing less defensive capability than similarly sized battleships.
Battleship
Battleships are heavily armoured capital ships designed for sustained frontline warfare.
Equipped with powerful shields, extensive weapon batteries, heavy armour, and large crews, battleships form the backbone of major Hell Host fleet engagements.
They are designed to withstand prolonged combat while engaging enemy capital ships, fortified installations, and other major strategic targets.
Carrier
Carriers are capital vessels designed primarily around the deployment and support of smaller spacecraft.
Their internal hangars may carry fighters, bombers, interceptors, dropships, reconnaissance craft, drones, and other auxiliary vessels.
Although carriers possess defensive weapons of their own, their greatest strength comes from their ability to project large numbers of smaller craft across enormous distances.
Assault Carrier
Assault carriers combine the spacecraft capacity of conventional carriers with extensive facilities for planetary invasion.
Alongside fighters and support craft, these vessels can transport large numbers of soldiers, vehicles, atmospheric aircraft, landing craft, supplies, and heavy equipment.
They frequently serve as mobile staging grounds during major planetary campaigns.
Dreadnought
Dreadnoughts are among the largest conventional warships operated by the Hell Hosts.
Designed as fleet centrepieces, dreadnoughts possess immense firepower, extremely powerful defensive systems, extensive command facilities, and the endurance required for prolonged campaigns.
Dreadnoughts are expensive to construct and maintain and are therefore considerably less common than cruisers, destroyers, and battleships.
Several specialized dreadnought configurations exist throughout the Armada.
Super-Dreadnought
Super-Dreadnoughts represent the highest conventional scale of Hell Host warship construction.
These enormous vessels exceed standard dreadnoughts in firepower, defensive capability, internal capacity, command infrastructure, and strategic importance.
Their immense construction and operational requirements prevent them from being deployed in significant numbers.
A Super-Dreadnought is not simply intended to participate in a fleet engagement. It is designed to influence the outcome of an entire theatre of war.
Support Vessel
Support vessels encompass a wide range of spacecraft designed primarily for non-combat fleet operations.
These include ammunition transports, fuel carriers, repair vessels, medical ships, troop transports, recovery vessels, scientific ships, mobile workshops, and other logistical spacecraft.
Although many possess defensive armament and shielding, direct combat is generally not their intended role.
Known Ship Classes
The Hell Host Armada operates numerous standardized ship classes designed for different forms of naval warfare, exploration, logistics, and fleet support.
A ship class represents a specific vessel design rather than a general naval classification. Multiple vessels may therefore belong to the same class while possessing different names, crews, modifications, and operational histories.
The following represent some of the most widely used or notable ship classes currently known within the Hell Host Armada.
Wraith-class Corvette
Classification: Corvette
Primary Role: Interception / Screening
The Wraith-class is a fast and highly maneuverable light warship commonly deployed around larger fleet formations.
Designed for interception and screening, Wraith-class vessels can rapidly engage hostile fighters, bombers, missiles, and other light spacecraft before they reach larger Hell Host vessels.
Their limited armour prevents them from surviving prolonged engagements against heavier warships.
Peregrine-class Corvette
Classification: Corvette
Primary Role: Reconnaissance / Patrol
The Peregrine-class emphasizes speed, sensor capability, and operational range.
It is commonly used for patrol missions, reconnaissance, border security, forward observation, and operations in areas where deploying larger vessels would be unnecessary.
Modified Peregrines are frequently used by exploration and intelligence formations.
Cerberus-class Frigate
Classification: Frigate
Primary Role: Fleet Escort / Point Defence
The Cerberus-class is one of the primary escort vessels used throughout the Hell Host Armada.
Its extensive point-defence network is designed to intercept missiles, strike craft, drones, and other threats attempting to penetrate a fleet’s defensive perimeter.
Cerberus-class frigates are frequently positioned around carriers, battleships, and dreadnoughts.
Shade-class Frigate
Classification: Frigate
Primary Role: Electronic Warfare / Reconnaissance
The Shade-class is a specialist frigate designed around electronic warfare, communications interception, sensor disruption, and reconnaissance.
Its reduced conventional armament is compensated for by sophisticated sensor arrays and electronic warfare systems.
Shade-class vessels are particularly common within intelligence and reconnaissance formations.
Talon-class Destroyer
Classification: Destroyer
Primary Role: General Fleet Warfare
The Talon-class is a widely deployed frontline destroyer and one of the most common combat vessels in the Hell Host Armada.
Designed as a balanced warship, it combines speed, armour, shielding, missile systems, and direct-fire weapons without heavily specializing in any single area.
Its versatility allows Talon-class vessels to operate effectively across nearly every Hell Host fleet.
Vindicator-class Destroyer
Classification: Destroyer
Primary Role: Anti-Ship Warfare
The Vindicator-class sacrifices some of the versatility of the Talon-class in favour of heavier anti-ship weaponry.
Designed to attack cruisers and other medium warships, Vindicators frequently operate in coordinated groups capable of concentrating fire against significantly larger targets.
Stormfront-class Missile Destroyer
Classification: Destroyer
Primary Role: Missile Warfare / Long-Range Engagement
The Stormfront-class is built around extensive missile capacity and long-range target engagement.
Rather than closing directly with enemy vessels, Stormfront-class destroyers can launch large missile salvos from behind the primary battle line.
They are particularly effective when supported by reconnaissance vessels capable of providing distant targeting information.
Horizon-class Exploration Cruiser
Classification: Cruiser
Primary Role: Exploration / Research
The Horizon-class is a long-range exploration vessel designed to operate beyond established Hell Host territory for extended periods.
Its internal facilities include laboratories, survey equipment, drone bays, advanced sensors, medical facilities, and specialized containment areas.
Despite its scientific role, the Horizon-class remains a military vessel and carries sufficient weaponry and shielding to survive hostile encounters.
It is particularly associated with the Fourth Fleet and Exploration Command.
Legion-class Cruiser
Classification: Cruiser
Primary Role: General Fleet Operations
The Legion-class is a versatile combat cruiser designed for extended deployments.
Larger and more capable than standard destroyers, Legion-class vessels can operate independently or form the central combat element of smaller task forces.
Their adaptable internal architecture allows individual vessels to be modified for command, troop transport, reconnaissance, or conventional warfare.
Paladin-class Heavy Cruiser
Classification: Heavy Cruiser
Primary Role: Heavy Fleet Combat
The Paladin-class is a heavily protected cruiser designed to remain in sustained combat against hostile warships.
Its reinforced armour, powerful shields, and heavy weapon batteries make it slower than many conventional cruisers but considerably harder to destroy.
Paladin-class vessels frequently reinforce major fleet battle lines.
Lancer-class Battlecruiser
Classification: Battlecruiser
Primary Role: Fast Capital-Ship Warfare
The Lancer-class combines capital-grade offensive weaponry with unusually high mobility for a vessel of its size.
It is designed to rapidly engage important targets, exploit weaknesses in enemy formations, and withdraw before slower hostile capital ships can effectively respond.
Its defensive systems are substantial but remain weaker than those of equivalent battleships.
Imperator-class Battleship
Classification: Battleship
Primary Role: Heavy Fleet Warfare
The Imperator-class is one of the principal battleship designs of the Hell Host Armada.
Built for sustained engagements, it carries extensive heavy weapon batteries, powerful shielding, thick armour, and sufficient supplies for extended campaigns.
Imperator-class vessels commonly form the main battle line during large-scale naval engagements.
Executioner-class Battleship
Classification: Battleship
Primary Role: Heavy Assault / Bombardment
The Executioner-class is an offensive battleship designed for attacking fortified vessels, stations, and orbital military infrastructure.
Its weapons emphasize concentrated destructive power over the broader versatility of the Imperator-class.
Executioners are particularly common during major offensive campaigns where hostile defensive positions must be broken before planetary operations can begin.
Archangel-class Fleet Carrier
Classification: Carrier
Primary Role: Strike Craft Deployment
The Archangel-class is a major carrier used to deploy and support large numbers of fighters, interceptors, bombers, drones, dropships, and other auxiliary spacecraft.
Its enormous internal hangars allow it to maintain extensive aerospace operations without relying on nearby planetary bases.
Archangel-class vessels rarely operate without substantial escort formations.
Conqueror-class Assault Carrier
Classification: Assault Carrier
Primary Role: Planetary Invasion
The Conqueror-class is designed specifically to support planetary warfare.
Its internal capacity allows it to transport large numbers of soldiers, vehicles, atmospheric aircraft, dropships, supplies, and other equipment required for invasion operations.
Conqueror-class vessels frequently act as orbital staging grounds for Hell Host ground forces.
They are particularly common within the Ninth Fleet.
Sovereign-class Dreadnought
Classification: Dreadnought
Primary Role: Fleet Command / Heavy Warfare
The Sovereign-class is one of the principal dreadnought designs operated by the Hell Hosts.
These enormous vessels combine heavy naval weaponry, extensive command infrastructure, powerful defensive systems, large auxiliary craft complements, and the endurance required to lead prolonged campaigns.
Sovereign-class vessels commonly serve as flagships for major fleet formations.
Requital-class Siege Dreadnought
Classification: Dreadnought
Primary Role: Siege Warfare / Strategic Bombardment
The Requital-class is a specialized dreadnought designed to destroy targets that conventional fleet weapons struggle to penetrate.
Its enormous long-range weapon systems are intended for use against fortified stations, heavily defended orbital infrastructure, major capital ships, and other hardened targets.
The class sacrifices some versatility and mobility to support its immense offensive systems.
Cataclysm-class Heavy Dreadnought
Classification: Dreadnought
Primary Role: Overwhelming Fleet Firepower
The Cataclysm-class represents one of the heaviest conventional dreadnought designs within the Armada.
Built around immense weapons capacity and exceptional defensive strength, the class is intended to dominate major fleet engagements through overwhelming force.
Its enormous logistical requirements make Cataclysm-class vessels relatively rare.
The class is strongly associated with the Seventh Fleet.
Victoria-class Super-Dreadnought
Classification: Super-Dreadnought
Primary Role: Armada Command / Strategic Warfare
The Victoria-class represents the largest and most ambitious conventional warship design fielded by the Hell Hosts.
Designed to serve as the centre of an entire naval theatre, the class combines immense firepower, extreme defensive capability, extensive command infrastructure, enormous internal hangars, long-term logistical independence, and facilities capable of coordinating multiple fleet formations simultaneously.
The class was developed around the requirements of the Hell Host Armada’s supreme flagship.
Only an extremely small number of Victoria-class vessels can be supported due to their extraordinary construction, maintenance, and crew requirements.
Atlas-class Fleet Replenishment Vessel
Classification: Support Vessel
Primary Role: Fleet Resupply
The Atlas-class is a massive logistics vessel designed to resupply Hell Host formations during extended operations.
Its internal storage facilities carry ammunition, equipment, fuel, food, medical supplies, spare components, and other resources required by deployed fleets.
Atlas-class vessels allow major Hell Host formations to remain operational without continuously returning to permanent military installations.
Forge-class Fleet Repair Vessel
Classification: Support Vessel
Primary Role: Repair / Engineering
The Forge-class functions as a mobile naval repair facility.
Its engineering bays can perform extensive maintenance on damaged vessels, manufacture replacement components, recover disabled spacecraft, and conduct repairs that would otherwise require a permanent shipyard.
Forge-class vessels frequently accompany long-range expeditions and major military campaigns.
Sanctuary-class Hospital Ship
Classification: Support Vessel
Primary Role: Medical Support
The Sanctuary-class is a dedicated medical vessel designed to receive casualties from multiple ships and ground formations.
Its facilities include surgical wards, intensive care units, trauma facilities, quarantine areas, laboratories, and large-scale casualty reception bays.
Sanctuary-class vessels are commonly positioned behind major Hell Host battle formations and during planetary campaigns.
Wayfarer-class Expeditionary Support Vessel
Classification: Support Vessel
Primary Role: Exploration / Long-Duration Support
The Wayfarer-class supports expeditions operating far beyond established Hell Host infrastructure.
It combines storage, repair facilities, laboratories, habitation areas, medical facilities, drone support, and long-duration life-support systems within a single vessel.
Wayfarer-class ships are particularly valuable during missions into unexplored or poorly understood regions of the Omicron Galaxy.
