Overview

Calypso, real name Ellie Parsons, is a former Hell Hosts soldier who became the ruler of the Ice Kingdom after undergoing an Ascension-like transformation inside the Chamber of Ogygia.

Before her transformation, Ellie was a relatively new member of the Hell Hosts and served within the Doom Corps as a Private Second Class. She never believed she was a natural fit for the army, but joined after encouragement from her friends, hoping to make a new start for herself.

During a solo reconnaissance mission inside the Ice Kingdom, Ellie discovered an ancient Elysarian chamber hidden within the frozen ruins. The Ice Kingdom had remained dormant for hundreds of years, waiting for someone worthy to take the place of royalty.

Ellie entered the chamber alone.

Calypso left it crowned.

Now known as the Ice Queen, Calypso rules a kingdom she never asked for, carrying the burden of royalty while still trying to preserve the humanity of Ellie Parsons beneath the crown.

Part I — Ellie Parsons

Early Life

Very little is known about Ellie Parsons’ early life before joining the Hell Hosts.

She had no family waiting for her back home, which became one of the reasons she sought a new beginning within the military. To Ellie, the Hell Hosts represented more than service.

They represented escape.

A chance to belong somewhere.

A chance to build something new.

Despite this, Ellie never fully believed she was suited for army life. She was not naturally drawn to command, violence, or military discipline in the same way as many others around her.

Her friends believed differently.

Eventually, Ellie joined the Hell Hosts on her own terms.

Hell Host Service

Ellie Parsons served within the Doom Corps under the codename Calypso.

At the time, she held the rank of Private Second Class and was still relatively new to Hell Host service. Despite this, she began showing promising skills quickly enough to be noticed by more experienced figures, including Forsaken.

Ellie was not one of the most famous soldiers in the Hell Hosts.

She was not a senior officer.

She was not a legend.

She was a new soldier trying to prove herself while finding a place within a military that often seemed far larger than she was.

This makes her later transformation into the Ice Queen one of the most dramatic changes in the history of the Ice Kingdom.

Personality Before Ascension

Before her Ascension event, Ellie was calm, thoughtful, and generally kind, though she could become aggressive when placed under pressure.

She was not emotionless or cold. She cared deeply, sometimes more than she was willing to admit.

Common traits included:

  • Calm under normal circumstances

  • Caring toward friends

  • Occasionally aggressive under stress

  • Quietly determined

  • More capable than she believed

  • Nervous in difficult moral situations

  • Curious about machinery and vehicles

  • Gentle around animals

  • Dislikes being forced into impossible choices

Ellie especially disliked situations where she had to decide who lived and who died.

This would become painfully ironic after her transformation, as ruling the Ice Kingdom forced her into exactly those kinds of decisions.

Interests and Hobbies

Ellie had a strong interest in vehicles, machinery, and modification work.

She enjoyed messing with vehicles and was particularly fascinated by bikes and some ships. At one point, she took one of the Hell Hosts’ military bikes and modified it for speed rather than damage.

She also liked animals, a trait that remained part of her even after becoming queen.

Despite her interest in ships, Ellie disliked flying. She hated being off the ground unless she was aboard a large, stable vessel such as the Hell Host Commonwealth.

She preferred solid ground beneath her feet.

Ironically, her later throne would be built in a kingdom of ice.

Original Weapons

365 Specialist Assault Rifle

Ellie’s primary weapon during her Hell Host service was the 365 Specialist Assault Rifle, also known as the SPAR.

The weapon functioned similarly to a compact assault rifle or submachine gun, suited for rapid movement, close-to-mid-range engagements, and flexible battlefield use.

After Ellie’s transformation, this weapon changed with her and became known as Absolute Zero.

47T Ballistic Heavy Sniper Rifle

Ellie also carried a 47T Ballistic Heavy Sniper Rifle during her Hell Host service.

Unlike the SPAR, the 47T did not become her primary weapon after Ascension.

After becoming Queen Calypso, she stopped using it in battle.

Instead, the rifle was preserved and hung within her throne room as a reminder of her former life.

To outsiders, it may appear to be a trophy.

To Calypso, it is a time capsule.

A reminder that before the crown, before the throne, and before the Ice Kingdom chose her, she was once Ellie Parsons of the Doom Corps.

Part II — The Ascension Event

Solo Reconnaissance Mission

Calypso’s transformation began during a solo reconnaissance mission inside the Ice Kingdom.

At the time, she was still serving the Hell Hosts.

The Ice Kingdom had long been dormant, with many of its structures sealed, abandoned, or hidden beneath ancient layers of frost. During the mission, Ellie moved deeper into the region alone and discovered an ancient Elysarian chamber.

No one witnessed what happened next.

No squad stood beside her.

No officer recorded the event.

No rescue team reached her in time.

Ellie Parsons entered the chamber alone.

The Chamber of Ogygia

The chamber Ellie discovered became known as the Chamber of Ogygia.

The name is closely tied to her codename, Calypso, and reflects the chamber’s nature as both prison and throne.

For centuries, the Ice Kingdom had remained dormant, waiting for someone worthy to take the place of royalty. The Chamber of Ogygia was not merely an ancient structure.

It was a test.

A vessel.

A coronation site.

The chamber did not trap Ellie by accident.

It chose her.

Becoming the Ice Queen

Inside the Chamber of Ogygia, Ellie underwent an Ascension-like transformation.

The Ice Kingdom reached into her body, mind, and identity, reshaping her into its chosen ruler.

Her humanity was not erased, but it was altered.

The transformation changed her physically, emotionally, and spiritually, binding her to the ancient power of the Ice Kingdom.

By the time the process was complete, Ellie Parsons had become Calypso, the Ice Queen.

The chamber did not simply empower her.

It crowned her.

Part III — Queen Calypso

Rule of the Ice Kingdom

As Queen Calypso, Ellie became the ruler of the Ice Kingdom.

Her rule is not only political. It is spiritual, elemental, and symbolic.

The Ice Kingdom had waited hundreds of years for a ruler worthy of awakening it. By choosing Ellie, the kingdom placed the burden of its future upon someone who had never sought power in the first place.

This is one of the central tragedies of Calypso’s life.

Ellie Parsons wanted a new start.

Calypso was given a kingdom.

Personality After Ascension

Calypso became colder after her transformation, both in presence and temperament.

However, she did not become cruel or emotionless.

In public, she presents herself as composed, regal, controlled, and difficult to read. She understands that the Ice Queen cannot appear fragile before the court, her enemies, or the ancient forces bound to her kingdom.

Publicly, Calypso is:

  • Calm

  • Regal

  • Restrained

  • Strategic

  • Quietly intimidating

  • Difficult to read

  • Emotionally guarded

  • More severe than Ellie once was

Privately, however, Ellie still exists.

When alone or with those she trusts, the mask of royalty fades. She becomes softer, warmer, and more openly caring. The sweetness she carried before Ascension never disappeared.

It simply became hidden beneath frost.

Names and Identity

Calypso is known by several names, each carrying a different meaning.

NameMeaning
Ellie ParsonsHer human name, used by those who knew or truly understand her
CalypsoHer Hell Host codename and personal identity after transformation
Queen CalypsoHer formal royal title
The Ice QueenHer mythic title used by outsiders, citizens, and enemies

Most citizens of the Ice Kingdom refer to her as Queen Calypso or the Ice Queen.

Those closest to her may call her Ellie in private.

The name is not used lightly.

Appearance

Before Ascension, Ellie Parsons was human with:

  • Dark blue hair, usually tied up in a bun

  • Red eyes

  • White skin tone

  • Slim build

  • Height of approximately 5’10”

After Ascension, Calypso’s appearance changed dramatically.

Her body took on the visual traits of the Ice Kingdom’s ancient power. Her presence became colder, more regal, and more inhuman, though she remained recognisably Ellie beneath the transformation.

As the Ice Queen, her appearance is often associated with:

  • Pale or frost-touched skin

  • Ice-blue and white tones

  • A colder expression

  • Royal or ceremonial armour

  • Frost-like details across her body and clothing

  • An aura of cold surrounding her during moments of emotion or power

  • A presence that appears calm even when she is deeply unsettled

Her transformation makes her appear almost untouchable.

That image is misleading.

Ellie Parsons is still underneath.

Absolute Zero

Absolute Zero is Calypso’s ascended weapon.

Before her transformation, the weapon was her 365 Specialist Assault Rifle, commonly known as the SPAR. When Ellie became the Ice Queen, the rifle changed with her.

Absolute Zero retains the core structure of the original SPAR, but has been altered by the same ice-bound power that transformed Calypso.

The weapon is associated with:

  • Ice-infused rounds

  • Extreme cold discharge

  • Frost formation around the barrel

  • Reduced heat signature

  • Cryogenic battlefield effects

  • A pale, frozen appearance

  • A bond to Calypso’s own power

Absolute Zero symbolises the same truth as Calypso herself.

Ellie was changed, not erased.

The 47T in the Throne Room

Calypso no longer uses her 47T Ballistic Heavy Sniper Rifle in battle.

Instead, it hangs within her throne room.

The weapon serves as one of the few visible reminders of her Hell Host past. Visitors may mistake it for a war trophy, but it is far more personal than that.

It reminds her of:

  • Her time in the Doom Corps

  • Her old rank

  • Her first weapons

  • Her former friends

  • Her life before royalty

  • The person she was before the Ice Kingdom chose her

The 47T is not displayed as a symbol of conquest.

It is displayed as a memory.

Powers and Abilities

Ice Creation

Calypso can create ice from moisture in the air or from her own energy.

She can form:

  • Barriers

  • Blades

  • Spikes

  • Platforms

  • Chains

  • Shields

  • Frozen stairs

  • Defensive walls

  • Temporary structures

Her ice is strongest within the Ice Kingdom, though she can use it outside the region as well.

Freezing Touch

Calypso can freeze surfaces, objects, weapons, armour, and living tissue through direct contact.

She rarely uses this ability at full strength against living beings unless absolutely necessary, as it can cause horrific damage.

When her emotions become unstable, this ability may activate unintentionally.

Cryokinetic Constructs

Calypso can shape ice into temporary constructs.

These constructs are often elegant, precise, and royal in appearance, reflecting her control and personality.

Common constructs include:

  • Ice spears

  • Frost chains

  • Frozen mirrors

  • Ice cages

  • Armour plates

  • Ceremonial blades

  • Protective domes

Her constructs are not simply brute-force weapons. They are controlled extensions of her will.

Frost Aura

Calypso’s presence can lower the temperature around her.

This effect becomes stronger when she is threatened, angry, frightened, or emotionally overwhelmed.

Signs of her frost aura include:

  • Visible breath

  • Frost forming on metal

  • Glass cracking

  • Water freezing nearby

  • Snow appearing indoors

  • Machinery slowing or malfunctioning

  • The air becoming painfully cold

In court, a sudden drop in temperature is often the first sign that Queen Calypso is losing patience.

Ice Storm Summoning

At higher levels of power, Calypso can summon localised ice storms and blizzards.

These storms can:

  • Blind enemies

  • Separate formations

  • Freeze exposed machinery

  • Reduce visibility

  • Slow movement

  • Cover retreats

  • Turn open terrain into hostile ground

Calypso does not use this power casually, as large storms require significant energy and can endanger allies.

Flash Freeze

Flash Freeze is one of Calypso’s most dangerous abilities.

It allows her to rapidly freeze an area in a short burst of overwhelming cold.

This ability can immobilise enemies, destroy machinery, seal passages, or halt an advancing force.

Flash Freeze is exhausting and potentially lethal, so Calypso reserves it for extreme situations.

Glacial Armour

Calypso can reinforce her body and armour with ice, creating a heavier defensive shell during combat.

This glacial armour increases her durability and makes her appear far more monstrous and regal, almost like a living statue of the Ice Kingdom’s will.

The armour can crack and reform as long as Calypso has enough strength to maintain it.

Memory Frost

Due to her connection to the ancient Elysarian chamber and the dormant Ice Kingdom, some of Calypso’s ice can preserve fragments of memory.

Certain frozen structures may carry echoes of:

  • Old voices

  • Ancient rituals

  • Forgotten rulers

  • Lost battles

  • Royal records

  • Moments preserved in frost

Calypso can sometimes touch ancient ice and witness fragments of the Ice Kingdom’s past.

This ability is inconsistent and emotionally draining.

It is not fully understood, even by Calypso herself.

The Still Winter

The Still Winter is one of Calypso’s most feared royal abilities.

When invoked, Calypso creates a field of extreme cold where motion, heat, and sound begin to slow.

Inside the Still Winter:

  • Sound becomes muffled

  • Movement becomes sluggish

  • Weapons frost over

  • Breath crystallises

  • Machinery begins to fail

  • Enemies feel heavy and numb

  • The battlefield becomes unnaturally quiet

The Still Winter is not true time manipulation.

It is worse in some ways.

It makes the world feel as if it is freezing around the soul.

Calypso rarely uses this ability, as it reflects the most frightening side of what the Ice Kingdom made her.

Relationships

Blood

Before their transformations, Calypso and Blood barely knew each other.

They were both connected to the Hell Hosts, but their lives rarely intersected in any meaningful way. Blood was already a dangerous and respected operative, while Ellie was still a newer Doom Corps soldier trying to find her place.

Their relationship truly developed after they both became something else.

Blood became the Ashen Lord.

Calypso became the Ice Queen.

Their bond is built on shared transformation, isolation, and the burden of ruling elemental kingdoms neither of them fully asked for.

Blood is ash and fire.

Calypso is frost and ice.

They are opposites, but they understand one another in ways few others can.

Calypso likely became closer to Blood than Destiny did, not necessarily because their bond was simpler or more pure, but because Calypso was present after Blood’s transformation. She knew the ruler he became, while Destiny was left grieving the soldier he had been.

Their relationship is intimate, complicated, and deeply strained by the events surrounding Ember’s kidnapping.

Destiny

Calypso does not hate Destiny.

If anything, she feels sorry for her.

Calypso understands that Destiny lost someone important when Blood transformed and vanished into the Ashen Kingdom. She also understands that her own closeness with Blood makes that pain worse.

Destiny may hate Calypso because Calypso represents the life Blood continued living after Destiny lost him.

Calypso does not blame her for that hatred.

There is little she can do to fix it.

She did not steal Blood from Destiny.

But she knows it may feel that way.

Ember

Ember is one of the people closest to Blood and one of the few individuals capable of grounding him.

Calypso’s relationship with Ember became deeply complicated after Ember was kidnapped by rogue Ice Kingdom loyalists.

The loyalists acted without Calypso’s approval, but they acted from within her kingdom.

That distinction matters politically.

It does not erase the damage.

Calypso returned Ember as soon as she discovered what had happened, but Ember had already been exposed to an Ice Kingdom transformation process.

Although Ember was not fully converted, the event permanently affected her.

Her molten Ashen markings eventually returned to their normal orange hue after she was brought back to the Ashen Region, but they were never quite the same. At times, parts of her skin feel unnaturally cold, and faint blue hues sometimes appear where the lava-like patterns once burned cleanly.

Calypso blames herself deeply.

Not because she ordered it.

Because it happened under her crown.

The kidnapping nearly shattered her relationship with Blood, and she continues to carry guilt over the damage her kingdom caused.

Kael Veyr

Kael Veyr is the High Warden of the Frost Wardens and one of Calypso’s closest protectors.

Unlike Ember’s relationship with Blood, Kael did not know Calypso before her transformation. His loyalty began with the crown, but over time it became loyalty to Ellie herself.

In public, Kael is formal, disciplined, and unwavering.

He refers to her as:

  • Your Majesty

  • Queen Calypso

  • My Queen

In private, he is one of the few people permitted to call her Ellie.

Kael is not merely her bodyguard. He is one of the few people Calypso trusts enough to lower her guard around.

On rare occasions, after prolonged court sessions, political strain, or emotional exhaustion, Calypso has fallen asleep against him while he quietly held her and kept watch.

These moments are never spoken of publicly.

To Kael, protecting Calypso does not only mean guarding the Ice Queen from assassins.

It also means protecting Ellie Parsons from the weight of the crown.

Forsaken

During Ellie’s early Hell Host service, Forsaken was among the figures who noticed her promise.

At the time, Ellie was still new to the military and had not yet become a major figure. Being noticed by someone like Forsaken suggested she had potential beyond her rank.

Whether Forsaken later learned the full truth of her transformation remains unclear.

Hell Hosts

Calypso no longer maintains regular contact with the Hell Hosts.

After becoming Ice Queen, her responsibilities shifted almost entirely to the Ice Kingdom. She is no longer an active Doom Corps soldier and rarely communicates with her old faction.

However, she has not fully severed every connection.

On rare occasions, Calypso sends messages to old friends or individuals from her former life.

These messages are infrequent.

Each one is a reminder that Ellie Parsons is not completely gone.

Frost Wardens

The Frost Wardens are the elite royal guards of the Ice Kingdom.

They protect:

  • Queen Calypso

  • The royal citadel

  • Ancient Ice Kingdom chambers

  • Frozen archives

  • Royal ceremonies

  • Dormant Elysarian structures

  • The Chamber of Ogygia

The Frost Wardens are not ordinary soldiers.

They are oath-bound protectors of the Ice Kingdom’s royal legacy.

Their highest-ranking member is Kael Veyr, the High Warden.

Ember’s Kidnapping

Ember’s kidnapping remains one of the most damaging events of Calypso’s reign.

The incident was carried out by rogue Ice Kingdom loyalists who acted without Calypso’s approval. Their motives remain tied to internal politics, hostility toward the Ashen Kingdom, and fear of Calypso’s closeness with Blood.

Calypso moved quickly once she discovered the truth.

She returned Ember as soon as she could.

But by then, the damage was irreversible.

The event caused:

  • Ember’s partial ice alteration

  • Blood’s trust in Calypso to fracture

  • Increased tension between the Ashen Kingdom and Ice Kingdom

  • Calypso’s guilt to deepen

  • Political instability within the Ice Kingdom

  • Stronger suspicion toward Ice Kingdom loyalists

Some within the Ashen Kingdom believe the Obsidian Veil may have manipulated events from the shadows, though no proof has ever been found.

Whether this is true or not, the suspicion remains.

Rule and Burden

Calypso never sought royalty.

She did not scheme for the throne, inherit it through blood, or conquer it through war.

The Ice Kingdom chose her.

Because of this, her rule is marked by tension between duty and identity.

She feels responsible for a kingdom she barely understood when she first became its queen. She must govern ancient people, forgotten traditions, dangerous loyalists, and royal systems that existed long before her birth.

She is respected as the Ice Queen.

She is feared as a powerful Ascended ruler.

But underneath the crown, Ellie Parsons still struggles with the same fear she had before Ascension:

Being forced to decide who survives and who does not.

Reputation

Among the Ice Kingdom

Within the Ice Kingdom, Calypso is seen as the long-awaited queen who awakened a dormant kingdom.

Some revere her.

Some fear her.

Some question whether an outsider-born human should have been chosen at all.

Her rule is still marked by tension between ancient loyalty and modern uncertainty.

Among the Hell Hosts

To the Hell Hosts, Calypso is a former soldier who underwent an unexplained Ascension event and became something far beyond her original rank.

Some may view her as lost.

Others may view her as politically dangerous.

A few still remember her as Ellie.

Among Enemies

To enemies, Calypso is a terrifying figure.

She is the Ice Queen, ruler of a frozen kingdom, wielder of Absolute Zero, and master of powers capable of turning battlefields silent.

Her calmness is often mistaken for mercy.

That mistake rarely lasts.
