Hazmats

The Hazmats are a heavily armored hazardous operations faction operating throughout the Omicron Galaxy, specializing in contamination response, toxic environment survival, industrial recovery, and anomaly-zone operations. Originally formed from industrial cleanup crews, emergency containment units, and disaster-response personnel, the faction gradually evolved into a hardened independent organization capable of surviving environments considered impossible for ordinary military forces.

The Hazmats are most commonly deployed in regions affected by chemical contamination, biological outbreaks, radiation disasters, industrial collapse, and anomalous corruption events. Their forces are frequently encountered near abandoned facilities, quarantined worlds, toxic mining zones, and heavily contaminated battlefields.

Due to their extreme environmental resilience and specialized equipment, the Hazmats became increasingly involved in operations surrounding the Farlands, Valcara Prime, and other corruption-affected regions. Their personnel are trained to operate in environments involving hazardous atmospheres, corrosive storms, unstable radiation fields, and biological contamination.

Hazmat operatives are instantly recognizable by their sealed armored suits, reinforced respirators, glowing visors, and heavily modified industrial-grade equipment. Their combat doctrine emphasizes survival, suppression, containment, and slow methodical advances through hostile environments.

Although often viewed as mercenary-like contractors, the Hazmats maintain a surprisingly strict operational structure focused on containment and survival. Many within the galaxy consider them some of the few individuals willing to willingly enter locations everyone else has abandoned.
